A wallet used to be where stablecoins sat.
Doing anything useful with them often meant stitching together separate providers to get money in, spend it, send it, and move it back into the banking system.
Today, we’re launching Rain wallets: embedded stablecoin wallets built to work seamlessly with the full Rain stack.
Partners can give users one wallet where money can land as stablecoins, be spent with a card, sent onchain, or paid out to bank accounts in local currency.
Cards, virtual accounts, onramps, offramps, rewards, and payouts can all work with the same wallet through one integration.
Non-custodial Rain wallets are available today across multiple blockchains. Custodial wallets and additional capabilities for earning on balances are coming by the end of the year.
A wallet is only useful if users can actually do something with the money inside it.
Rain wallets connect a stablecoin balance to the rest of the Rain stack:
Every balance is ready to use the moment it arrives.
Consider a freelancer in Mexico getting paid by a client in the United States.
Her client sends dollars to a Rain-powered virtual account, and the payment lands in her wallet as stablecoins.
She can spend from that balance with her Rain-issued card. She can send stablecoins onchain. And when she needs to pay someone, she can fund the payment in stablecoins while the recipient gets local currency in their bank account.
All managed from one wallet, inside the financial app she already uses.
She does not need to understand blockchains, gas tokens, seed phrases, or the infrastructure moving money underneath.
Rain wallets are designed to feel like a familiar financial account rather than a standalone crypto product.
Each user gets their own non-custodial wallet embedded directly into the partner’s app through Rain’s SDKs.
Users can sign in with a passkey or a one-time code sent to their email or phone. There is no seed phrase to write down, and users do not need to acquire gas tokens before making a transaction.
Gas sponsorship, transaction construction, and broadcasting happen under the hood.
Partners design the experience. Rain runs the infrastructure underneath it.
Rain wallets are built to work seamlessly with Rain’s existing payments infrastructure.
A balance can arrive through a virtual account or onramp, back a Rain-issued card, move onchain, or leave through an offramp or payout to a bank account.
For partners, that means one wallet and one integration covering cards, rewards, virtual accounts, onramps, offramps, and payouts.
Adding a wallet does not have to mean adding another vendor, negotiating another agreement, or reconciling another set of infrastructure against the rest of your program.
Rain’s non-custodial wallets are designed so only the end user can move their funds.
Keys are created and used inside a secure enclave. Neither Rain nor the partner can view or extract them.
The code protecting those keys is open source and independently verifiable, so security teams can inspect the protections themselves.
Recovery is configurable by program. Users can also export their keys and take their wallet elsewhere.
Rain non-custodial wallets support 12 blockchains today:
Rain wallets support USDC, USDT, and other supported stablecoins, with availability varying by network.
Partners are not tied to one chain or one stablecoin.
Rain wallets are built to work seamlessly with the full Rain stack, but partners are not required to use them.
Partners that already use another wallet provider can keep it and plug into Rain cards, rewards, virtual accounts, onramps, offramps, and payouts.
That flexibility is intentional. Rain is building a full-stack stablecoin platform without turning it into a closed system.
Rain started by making stablecoins compatible with daily spending through cards.
Virtual accounts, onramps, offramps, and payouts connected stablecoins to the banking system.
Rain wallets bring those pieces together around one balance.
The wallet can become the centerpiece of a primary financial account: one where a user can get paid, earn rewards, spend with a card, send money onchain, and pay out to a bank account in local currency.
That’s the idea behind Rain wallets:
One stablecoin balance that works across the financial system.
Non-custodial Rain wallets are available to Rain partners today. Custodial wallets and additional capabilities for earning on balances are planned by the end of 2026.
